The FKC-I Planktonic Air Sampler, also known as an airborne microbial sampler or viable air sampler, is designed for monitoring viable microorganisms in cleanrooms, production areas and other controlled environments.
The sampler works according to the microbial impaction method and constant-velocity sampling principle. During operation, air is drawn through the precision micro-perforated sampling head. Airborne microbial particles are impacted directly onto the agar surface of a standard Petri dish. After incubation, the resulting colonies can be counted to evaluate the level of microbial contamination in the sampled environment.
The sampling head contains multiple micro-holes that help distribute the collected particles evenly across the agar surface, reducing particle overlap and improving colony-counting accuracy.
