The AELAB SYD-2806G is an Automatic Softening Point Tester for determining the softening point of petroleum asphalt, coal pitch, liquid petroleum asphalt and various asphalts using the ring-and-ball method.

The instrument is designed and made according to GB/T4507 Standard Test Method for Softening Point of Petroleum Asphalt, T0606-2011 Asphalt Softening Point Test (Ring-and-Ball Apparatus) in JTG E20-2011 Specification and Test Methods of Bitumen and Bituminous Mixture for Highway Engineering, and ASTM D36 Standard Test Method for Softening of Bitumen (Ring-and-Ball Apparatus).

The SYD-2806G uses a 32-bit ARM processor, color touch LCD screen and laser detection. The system automatically detects the softening point and can test two samples at the same time.

The measurement range is 5℃～80℃ for samples with a softening point ≦80℃ and 32℃～160℃ for samples with a softening point above 80℃. Temperature resolution is 0.1℃, while the heating rate is automatically adjusted to (5±0.5)℃/min after three minutes.
